The Bakuba throw is inspired by the traditional weaving patterns woven in the Congo by the people of the Kuba Kingdom. Historically, Kuba cloth was woven with palm leaves by men for ceremonial rituals. The off-beat, repetitive, staggered & suspended geometric patterns of the kuba cloth have been compared to the traditional music of the region. Here we have woven the Bakuba throw from pure cotton grown in Swaziland. Designed, woven & made in South Africa.
